The Diligex Managed IT Service requires a Managed IT ‘agent’ to be installed on each system. The following is a list of the primary roles and activities that the agent performs:
- Collects hardware and software inventory.
- Performs temp file cleanups.
- Monitors CPU, RAM and disk usage – alerts Diligex if predefined thresholds are met which would negatively impact system performance.
- Manages operating system and application updates.
- Manages disk encryption.
- Monitors for critical system services – alerts Diligex if services are not functioning properly.
- Monitors and collects system events logs.
- Monitors changes to the ‘administrators’ group on the system.
- Allows for secure remote access and file transfer to the system, either for employee or Diligex usage.
- This access can be configured to require consent (via pop-up) from the employee before a connection is allowed.
- Installs managed endpoint detection and response (EDR) software which monitors for and remediates viruses, malware and other nefarious activities on the system.
- Allows for remote software installs and uninstalls.
- Allows for predefined policies to be enforced on the system (screen idle timeout lock, desktop icons, etc.).
- Allows for remote device lock and data wipe in the event that the device is lost or stolen.
